MindGasm No.1: Lunar Lady 🌚🌝
Here's my process:
- Free sketching. Let that pencil take a walk and see what forms want to emerge.
- Ink over the sketch with sum vellum (good tracing paper).
- Scan the inks and clean up in Photoshop (get rid of the little artifacts, use Levels, Curves etc. until it's crisp).
- Add flats (the base colors).
- Use the marquee tool to draw selections across the various forms.
- Use the paint bucket tool (set to gradient fill of the same color as wha, and an 50-70% opacity) on a new multiply layer. Hit all areas you feel would be cast in shadow according to your light source.
- Repeat step 5 with a new highlight layer, set to screen, or hard light.
- 8Step back, zoom out, scope it, see what stands out!
