Sheep symbolize loyalty, devotion and justice. They embody the idea of the strength of a community. These quiet, non-violent animals symbolize peace and harmony. Sheep do not attack other beings, except if threatened or in danger. Sheep represent who knows their place and stand for a modest, humble, and lack of ambition, but not necessarily in a negative way.

The spirit of sheep could be calling you to work towards more self acceptance and acknowledgment of your limits or those of others. When the shadows lure you away from the person you are truly capable of being, that in of itself causes pain. Sheep medicine can remind you the power in connecting with others, how to be patient, peaceful and loyal.

This 4-6 horned furry creature is found on the Isle of Man, and Jersey in the UK. It typically has dark brown wool and usually four or occasionally six horns. The word Loaghtan comes from the Manx words lugh dhoan, which mean mouse-brown and describe the color of the sheep. They have come back from extinction 3 times, partially because their meat was prized, and their pelt is a unique color that was once in high fashion.

Animals hold a special power, and help us bridge the inner and outer. They help us align with the seasons, and the delicate fabric of life. Humans have learned many things from animals, and have told stories about them for thousands of years. Without animals humans wouldn't have imagined we could fly, explored the oceans, or learned how to survive in the desert, or the icy mountains without them.
