Lion represents personal strength, self-confidence, courage and general assertiveness. Lions are considered King of the jungle, so consider this when relating to a tendency to dominate or be in power especially in relationship. Lion reminds us to control your emotions, especially anger, and moderate aggression.
Lion leads us on a spiritual journey with power, courage, and protection. The vibrant yellow mane of the Lion is seen as a solar symbol, typically seen as masculine, though in many cultures it's the lioness that is seen as the provider for the pride.
Lion is the ultimate protector of hearth and home and advises us to heed the cycles of the sun to know if it is time to relax or to hunt. Lion has a soft side, and shows mercy and compassion in many myths. With kindness, Lion is devoted, vital, and may reminds us to take our role in a leadership position.
Lion is connected to the 25th Gift of Acceptance. "The flowering of love follows the burgeoning of acceptance. Acceptance is based on the soft approach to life. When you finally accept everything the way it is now, you have embraced the human wound. Acceptance comes in layers, like the genetic double helix itself. As you relax the layers so you can feel the flow of love within your being. The more you can accept yourself, and others, the more love will bloom in your life." - Richard Rudd, The Gene Keys
"Accept your wounds yes. But then heal them and move on. Never quit from expanding into the field of light. We, your greater family, wait for you to fulfill your great task. We wait in the shadows, hoping and dreaming for the fateful day when we can return to our true role as your friend and equal." – Richard Rudd, The Dream Arc
